Five-Star Care
Old Mill has long been known for providing high-quality, compassionate care to its patients. It is in large part why we won Best of Omaha for short-term rehabilitation facilities and why we consistently are five or four-star rated by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
While our care and services have remained unchanged, our star rating recently declined due to an administrative error. During the most recent rating period, CMS did not capture our staffing data. This is one of the three categories that determines a rehabilitation center’s overall score, so it had a huge impact on our rating.
Old Mill is proud to have a high patient to care team ratio. The numbers we attempted to submit to CMS during the last rating period show our patients receive almost five hours of one-on-one care from our nurses every day. This level of attention is above average across our industry.
We want our current and future patients to know, we are working with CMS to fix this reporting error. CMS reevaluates all rehabilitation centers on a quarterly basis. The next report will be released in early January and we believe it will once again show us as a five-star facility.
If anyone has questions about our current three-star rating, we encourage you to give our administrator, Michele Dein, a call at 402-934-7500. We feel confident in the care we provide and we want to make sure our current and future patients have accurate information so they can feel the same.
